November 2018 – The BYOB Event

I’ve hosted a lot of bourbon clubs now. Sometimes, life is happening. Bourbon club is something I look forward to every month and my wife is a sweet lady who knows it. We work together to make sure that every month I get 4 hours to host this event and enjoy it.
This month is the one time so far it’s been different. My wife was due a couple days after this bourbon club was scheduled, so I wasn’t sure we could actually do it. To avoid the process of collecting everybody’s buy in, buying whiskey, and planning everything out without knowing if I could actually host, we did a bring-your-own-bourbon event. If someone showed up, they were expected to bring a bottle to share and take the leftovers home.
As such, this is going to be a really, really short post. We drank some stuff we’ve already tried and nothing new. Weller’s, Bulliet 10 year, and one new drink, Bulliet barrel proof. There weren’t any scores taken. We drank some whiskey and played some Rock Band in my living room, and we liked all the bourbon. The featured image for this post is a bottle I turned into a lamp as a gift for a friend who is our most consistent member and an all around great guy.

For those who have been following for a while, my second child was born shortly after this event. She’s my second daughter, and we’re thrilled to have her. Thanks to everyone who helped out and sent well wishes and bottles of whiskey!
